WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY
Candidate and current City Council Member Michael Walters on why he supports Al Heidorn for Mayor
There are several reasons that Al Heidorn has my complete support for Mayor of Watertown. Al is an intelligent leader with great character. He has a realistic, positive vision for Watertown and the way it conducts its business. I met Al as part of the Watertown Lions Club, to which Al has been a long time member and has served as president. He has earned his respect by rolling up his sleeves, involving himself and getting the job done. Al shares many of the values and visions that I have for Watertown. – Such as: Work to get more businesses located in our downtown and our mostly vacant Industrial Center. Also, work for measureable, real growth in our developments. Reduce or keep City taxes and fees stable. Al will make decisions that are fair and smart for the people and the City of Watertown.
For the health and future of our City …….Please vote on November 4th for: Al Heidorn, Mayor of Watertown

A Letter of Support from candidate and current City Council Member Lindsay Guetzkow for Al Heidorn for Mayor
Why am I supporting Al Heidorn for Mayor of Watertown?
Al and I share a common goal of reducing Watertown residents' property tax burden by increasing the overall tax base through a focus on business growth. I am confident Al's business and technology background, leadership experience, and focus on collaboration makes him the right person to lead Watertown at this pivotal point in time.
We have already seen neighboring communities bounce back and experience significant economic growth. Now it is time for Watertown to do the same - to actively recruit businesses with jobs to our industrial park and to create a more self-sustaining community and a climate where businesses with essential services (like a hardware store and coffee shop) want to come to Watertown.
Al Heidorn is dedicated to ensuring the City is a good partner to our businesses and to our residents, that we listen to both ideas and concerns, and follow through to make sure plans are executed and adjusted if needed.
I am excited for the opportunity to work on the Council with Al as Mayor and help to make this vision a reality. I strongly encourage you to join me in voting for Al Heidorn for Mayor of Watertownthis Tuesday!

A Letter of Support for Al Heidorn for Mayor from Chris & Becky Skillings of Watertown, MN
Dear Citizens of Watertown,
I moved to this community in 2009 because of the appeal it had for my family. The area was affordable and the schools were great. A small town feel was top on our list. Where people not only know your name, but will get to know your family as well. We chose the town as much as the town chose us.
Since moving here, we have seen very little change for the better. Vacant and dilapidated buildings crumble bit by bit and local businesses have closed their doors because they could not sustain in this area any longer. Businesses are lost to surrounding communities causing other cities to thrive while the light of Watertown grows dimmer and dimmer.
I want to be a part of a growing and thriving community. I want to be proud of where we have chosen to live. I want to wear Royal colors with pride and be proud to say I am a part of Watertown. This should be an area where my family can stay home for an entire weekend if we choose and enjoy something new each day. From parks to picnics, to window shopping and ice cream, we need a place where people want to go to, not get away from. A community that others want to be a part of as well.
Watertown needs a new vision. Allow the historic roots of Watertown branch out once again. Create the “Destination Watertown” that Al Heidorn sees. With branching out come jobs, with jobs come families and with families come revenue and a once again thriving community. Exhibit the quaintness of Watertown. It’s unique-ness. Draw attention to the trails and to the beautiful river that flows through town along with incredible outdoor stadiums and the spectacle, “Hooked on Classics.” We have so much to offer here, yet so far to go.
Watertown needs a fresh vision. A fresh set of eyes and ears. Someone who has sat on the outside looking in. Someone who sees the need for a change. Someone who is approachable and non-threatening. Someone willing to take the time to listen. Someone like Al Heidorn.
So Watertown, I ask you to stand up. Stand up for initiative. Stand up for growth. Stand up for stability. Stand up for Al Heidorn and vote for change. Vote for you. Vote for your family. Vote to create a bolder Watertown!
Sincerely,
Chris & Becky Skillings

A Message from Al Heidorn for Mayor to the Editor of the Carver County News
To the editor
I would like to begin by thanking the other candidates for Mayor for finally recognizing the issues and essentially adopting my platform. That in and of itself is an achievement for Watertown. However, recognizing the issues because of an election is very different from recognizing the issues because of the issues themselves. I'm not running for mayor because I want to be The Mayor. I'm running for mayor because I am frustrated with the direction Watertown has been heading and the lack of prosperity we are achieving in sharp contrast to our neighboring towns. My father always told me that I do not have the right to complain about something unless I first try to do something about it.
I believe that we need a overall change in culture and attitude to one where we say ‘Welcome and how can we help?’. I also believe that my experience in business and getting groups together to follow through to get things done is exactly what Watertown needs right now.
I will work hard for Watertown. I will work hard for all of you. I would appreciate your vote on November 4th.
Al Heidorn
Candidate for Mayor of Watertown
