WHY IS
AL HEIDORN
OUR CANDIDATE?
Al Heidorn knows the great qualities of Watertown, MN. Watertown is a small town, with that close-knit, friendly atmosphere. We have outstanding hometown restaurants, quality healthcare, generous civic organizations and much, much more. Watertown, MN is the heart of the Luce Line Trail and it sits on the picturesque South Fork of the Crow River. And Al Heidorn knows that all of these wonderful qualities are not enough to attract new residents to Watertown, MN.
Al Heidorn understands the business to resident relationship and that at this moment, that relationship is out of balance. Watertown’s property taxes are the highest in the county and there are only two ways to correct that problem:
1) You can cut taxes, which means reducing the services and the quality of services provided by the City of Watertown and eliminating jobs; or
2) You can repair the business and resident relationship.
Al Heidorn wants to attract new industry to Watertown because new industry creates new jobs. New jobs create new employees. New employees create new residents. New residents create the need for more small businesses like a coffee shop or a hardware store. With more residents and more businesses, we have more people footing less of the bill. Decrease taxes by increasing the tax base.
We need order restored to the City Council. That begins with the Mayor. When the Mayor brings a business minded approach to the City Council, business will get done and it will filter through to all of the departments, agencies and councils of the City of Watertown.
We need to address our town. We need business to get done. Al Heidorn is the person to do it.
That is why Al Heidorn is our candidate.

WHO IS
AL HEIDORN?
Al Heidorn is husband to Sheryl and father to four children, Rachel, Parker, Jordan and Stephanie. Al has been active with his children in their community activities such as dance, soccer, theater and swimming. Rachel graduated from W-M High School in 2014 and is beginning her freshman year at UMD. Parker is a sophomore at W-M High School, Jordan just began 5th Grade and Stephanie is a 3rd Grader at W-M Elementary.
Al has been an active member and Board Member of the Watertown Lions Club since 2002 and has served as the President, Past President and Secretary. Sheryl has been President and is a current Board Member of the Mayer-Watertown DandyLions. Al and the Heidorn family are members of Immaculate Conception Church here in Watertown, where Sheryl serves on the Religious Ed Committee, Jordan and Stephanie are in the Children’s Choir and Parker alter serves.
Al Heidorn was raised in Hopkins, MN and was the third of four children. He graduated from Hopkins High School in 1982 and in 1989, he graduated from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
Not only is Al Heidorn the Director of Software Engineering for Zivix, LLC in Minneapolis, but he is also a small business owner. Zivix is the company that brought you Jamstik, the guitar peripheral device for iPad, iPhone, MacOSX and eventually almost every platform imaginable (Android, Windows, game consoles, etc.) and is currently available in Apple Stores. Outside of Zivix, Al is the sole proprietor of Heidorn Enterprises, LLC. Heidorn Enterprises handles everything from consulting, contracting and development of mobile apps to websites and desktop software. Al holds several patents for music accompaniment and assessment mechanisms and has been awarded the Department of Defense Certificate for Software Development.
